Siegfried Rouvrais HomePage

Siegfried Rouvrais-Delahaie (Sigurður Fáfnisbani) Research & Development activities are in the modeling, processes and analysis of large Software Systems and of Higher Education Systems. He is and has been a leader or member of European and International R&D projects since 2000 (e.g. EU FP/Horizon Europe, EU Strategic Cooperations, EU Capacity Buildings).
He is co-author of up to 100 publications, which are mostly international. The competencies derived from his design research activities in Computer Science have been used for the definition of frameworks, models, methods and tools in Engineering Higher Education, to improve curriculum development practices.

He currently serves as Research Scientist at the Institute Mines-Télécom in France and at Lab-STICC CNRS research laboratory (CNRS UMR 6285, MOCS/P4S team). IEEE senior member, he is now Associate Professor and Engineering Educator at IMT Atlantique.

IMT Atlantique is a French State Technological University (aka Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications), public educational and research institution (i.e. selective so-called French "Grande Ecole", accredited Grad and PostGrad School of engineering);
Institute Mines-Télécom (IMT) is a scientific public research institution placed under the authority of the French Ministry for Industry;
CNRS is the leading French National Center for Fundamental Scientific Research, in which Lab-STICC is a multidisciplinary research laboratory in the field of Information and communication science & technology .

Assoc. Prof. Rouvrais was Visiting Academic in the Department of Engineering of Reykjavik University (2021) and in the Center for Research in Engineering Education at the University of Cape Town (2016).
He was working with INRIA Research Center (i.e. French Public National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control) as CNRS Research Fellow in IRISA (UMR 6074) till 2018.
He received the Ph.D. degree in Software Architecture and Distributed Systems Modeling from University of Rennes & IRISA in 2002, when Assistant Professor in Computer Science at ISTI and ENSSAT engineering graduate schools.

Research Activities in Software Systems Engineering

Design:

large software systems: software architectures, distributed software architecture styles, service composition, middleware;
business processes and Enterprise Architectures frameworks.

Models:

concerns, views & quality alignment;
formal specification and verification:

non-functional requirements (NFR), non-functional properties (NFP) & illities, NFP-oriented model transformation, model comparison.

Current Activities:

Field of research covers so-called non-functional properties (e.g. security, performance, dependability, scalability) and other quality attributes as drivers for software & enterprise architectures. Non-functional properties should be tackled as soon as possible in design rationales, as property dependencies may create inconsistencies. This problematic find scientific echoes in SW & System Architectures (IEEE 1471, ISO 15288) & Capacity Maturity Models (ISO 330xx, membership in AFNOR IQLS).
